ADBR Managing Editor – Andrew McLaughlin
Andrew has worked in the aerospace and defence media since 1998, initially starting as a part-time freelance writer before going full-time in 2003 to edit Australian Aviation magazine’s then new weekly e-newsletter and web platform.
In 2005 Andrew was a founding partner in Phantom Media which acquired Australian Aviation, and was appointed its Deputy Editor. Andrew was appointed Editor of the highly-regarded Australian Defence Business Review (ADBR) magazine and the weekly Defence Industry Aerospace Report (DIAR.com) e-newsletter following its acquisition by Phantom Media in 2010.
In mid-2012 Andrew left the media to take on a contract role as Strategic Communications Advisor for the ADF’s New Air Combat Capability project team. In 2013 he established the Communications Intelligence (COMINT) consultancy, and in 2015 was appointed to the role of Communications Representative for Northrop Grumman Australia.
In late 2017, Andrew returned to the media and was offered the role of Managing Editor of ADBR following that magazine’s acquisition by Felix Advantage.
